FINALLY! After months of delays, trying to get help with editing, and draft after draft, “Aftermath II: The Struggle for Independence” has released!
For those who are new, this is book 2 in the Jimmy Walker Series. Book one was released a year ago and has enjoyed a warm welcome among the survival, homesteading, and prepper communities. You can learn more about “Aftermath, A Story of Survival” by clicking here. Now, on to book 2!
If you haven’t read book one, the world was taken down to its knees by a virus that wiped out all electronics on the planet and wreaked havoc on every system and left the picture of a dog taking a squat with the words, “IT happens” on the screen. A cascading effect quickly brought humanity to its knees and caused the largest die off of the species in recorded history. The main character, Jimmy Walker, managed to bug out to his cabin in northern Michigan where he met with others and formed a community that worked together to meet the challenges of not only the criminal element, but also the United Nations who assumed global authority.
In book 2, the groups face the first winter without any modern conveniences. They have to get enough food put away to make it through the cold and dark and ensure there is enough firewood and shelter for everyone. They also have to face a lot of downtime with little to do other than get lost in thought and come to grips with the magnitude of all that has happened so not only are they battling Mother Nature, they are battling their own minds. Not everyone is able to come out the other side.
No spoilers but I can tell you that a less-than-favorite character from book 1 makes quite the impact here in book 2! Weather, spies, the U.N., resistance groups, and new life all await you in Book 2 of the Jimmy Walker Series!

Just completed the book and was very satisfied with the characters and where they are at the end. VERY GOOD JOB,
I recommend this book as a stand alone or the second of the series. it took me a few chapters to get my mind back into the characters as the first book was read so long ago, both are a worthy read. Thanks again
